TOPS: Get the right mindset in order to be successful in weight loss

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building, formerly known as “Preferred Family Thursday, Dec. 12, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our leader, Warren, called the meeting to order, Samantha led us in singing “Rocklin Around The Salad Bar”.

Warren led us in our TOPS and KOPS Pledge.

Marilyn led us in some chair exercises, she is showing some of the moves she is learning at the Senior Chair Exercise Class held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Banquet Room in City Hall. They are free to Seniors and give an excellent workout, come and check them out, they have classes at 9:00am and another one at 10:00 am.

Warren then led us in Roll Call.

Seventeen members weighed in, we had a loss of 4.6 and a gain of 6.4 leaving us with a net gain of 1.8.

Best loser for the week was a tie with Juanita and Connie each lost 1.4 Congratulations Ladies.

Pat gave the contest report: Linda H is in first place, Jan 2nd, Warren 3rd and Laura 4th. She and Samantha are working on a new contest. It will involve us getting to earn stars to put on a chart they will make, we will reward ourselves by eating right, exercising, having healthy snacks and keeping in touch with fellow members. More information at the December 26th meeting as we prepare for the new year.

Marble game: Jean won the right to draw but did not get the winning one. The pot is at $32.50.

Laura presented the program today; she spoke on the importance of getting the right mindset in order to be successful in weight loss. She talked about how to talk to your inner self to change your way of thinking. Understand what keeps you overweight. To some people, being overweight can be a way of protection. Instead of focusing on losing pounds, focus on being healthy. Most of all; Learn To Love Yourself! Remember you have to care for yourself in order to care for others.
