TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs met in the Church of Christ meeting room on Thursday, Dec. 8.

Warren had the program today. He started by asking us if we knew Dr Will’s last name. No one knew Dr. Will but we did know Dr. Will Power. We would all do well to have Dr. Will Power visit often. Warren then asked a series of questions prompting a good discussion.

What is your “Addiction” food? You can still have your favorite food, but in moderation and watch portion size.

Who do you blame for overeating your “Addiction” food?  Only you can control what you do.

If you fail what do you do? How do you get back on track? He used a TOPS member as an example; after a 5 lb gain they had a loss two weeks in a row. She shared she increased her walking and made sure she kept a food diary. She said she used the phrase “if you bite it you write it”.

We all need to find that AH HA moment. When you set your mind to doing it.

Do not let food be something that controls you but make food something you control.

Thank you Warren for a great program.

Kay led us in singing “Light Christmas”.

Marilyn caught up on an award she was unable to give last week. Judy K received her back in black with perfect attendance certificate.

Robbie led us in roll call.  23 weighed in today and the chapter had a .4 loss.  Juanita was the week’s best loser with a loss of 2.4 lbs.  Congratulations Juanita.

Chris is celebrating his birthday this week.

Robbie read a thank you card from Sue.

Carol won the right to draw for the marble game. She had to leave and left her chance to win with Sheryl. Robbie drew in Carol’s place but did not get the white one.

Remember the Christmas party next Thursday.

It is time when we usually donate money to the Food Pantry and Senior Center. We take the number of pounds lost by the chapter from Jan. 1 to Dec. 15.  We give $1 per pound and divide it with one half to the Food Pantry and the other half to the Senior Center.

We will present these organizations with our donation on Dec. 29.

We will also collect paper products to donate to the food pantry. Please bring your donation to the chapter no later than Dec. 22.

We welcome anyone who is interested in learning about a healthy lifestyle. We welcome women and men of all ages. We encourage healthy eating and offer support through our chapter and the National Chapter of TOPS. We have a lot of fun in our weight loss journey and make lifelong friendships. First visit is free with no obligation. Membership and dues are very inexpensive.
