TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs Thursday, March 17, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.
Linda Hall, Leader called the meeting to order.
Ray led us in singing “A TOPS Club Clover”
We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.
Linda led us in roll call and walking reports. Twenty-Seven members weighed in, we had a Gain of 5.2 lbs. and a Loss of 13.2 resulting in a Net Loss of 8.0 lbs. Best loser for the week was Jan with a loss of 3.2 lbs.
Laura had the program today: she was appropriately dressed for St Patrick’s Day, wearing her green tutu along with elf shoes. Subject of her program was Pamper Me Pail. This program was taken from the November/December issue of TOPS News. She told us we need to think of ways to pamper ourselves. This is as important as the food you eat and the exercise you get. You must take care of yourself before you can take care of others. She had us make up a little pamper pail and each member told of non-food things they like to do just for themselves. Taking a bubble bath, reading, knitting, taking long walks, getting out and going for drives, watching a Hallmark movie, and shopping were just a few things members mentioned they like to do. Thank you, Laura your programs are always, so much fun!
Marilyn reported on the contest, there are still a lot of slots open the lucky winner will receive $63. Remember losing weight gets your name in a slot and the more times your name is on a slot the better chance of winning.
Linda Hall reported registration, t-shirt and charm orders have been sent in. Total cost of members going to SRD will come to over $1,000. We have not done a fund raiser for a long time. She asked for ideas from the members and also how members felt about doing another Baked Potato Luncheon. She asked members to think about this and we will hold a discussion later.
Our Chapter Recognition Day will be held Thursday, March 31. Marilyn. Linda H and Carol are working hard on this. There are several members that will be receiving awards so everyone is asked to dress up a little for the occasion.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with Linda’s thought of the day:
“Failure is not fatal. Only failure to get back up is.”
And our Chapter Motto: IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
