No marble game due to Robbie being gone.

Contest: Marilyn will report to Robbie those who lost and/or under goal for this week.

Thanksgiving and Christmas meeting dates were discussed. Linda Hall made a motion we meet on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and on Tuesday, Dec. 22, as long as it is OK with the Church, whichever one we are meeting at. Sue C 2nd motion and motion carried.

Susan said we will determine if we will have a Christmas party and the date later on.

Parade was discussed. We will have the use of Jim Lovewell’s truck and trailer, and will need Robbie to notify the person we need hay bales. Terri can supply us with paper for the sides of the trailer. Marie and Margie are in charge of decorating the paper. More later.

Laura donated a turtle “mascot” for the leader’s table.

Roll Call: 18 members weighed in today. We had a 4.4 lb. gain and 10.0 loss resulting in a NET loss of 5.6   There was tie for best loser, Susan and Sue C each lost 2.4 lbs. Other good losses were Linda H 1.2, Judy K 1.4 and Carol 1.2.

Congratulations to all.

The floor was then turned over to Carol and Marilyn who had the program today.  They used Chapter 7 “Getting and Staying Fit in the Real-Life Book. Attitude = how you think about exercise, Commitment = how dedicated you are to carrying out an exercise program, Self-control = how ready you are to be in control of and responsible for your exercise program and Health = how strongly you believe that you will benefit from exercise. Carol passed out questionnaires on the above issues and asked us to rate ourselves.

We find there are some very good local sources for exercise. You can join in and play pickleball at the community center each Monday and Friday at 11 a.m. Also, a group plays at 9:00 am on Wednesdays.  There are exercise classes at the Community center that are free. See Linda and Warren for details or stop by the community center for more information.

How much physical activity do you need? Remember you must burn the calories you put into your body so the more you eat the more exercise you need. Use the TOPS idea of “Cut and burn” The bottom line is finding some activity you enjoy and slowly increase your time and you will find you will slowly lose body fat and learn to enjoy the activity.

Marilyn then led us in some exercises featured in the latest TOPS magazine.

Next meeting will be at Bethel Free Will Church unless we hear differently. Robbie has the program.

Quote for the day “The strongest people tend to smile even during their toughest times. Smiling is a psychological symbol of truth.  Keep smiling.”

May Omit routine stuff KWL
