Tops Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Church, 1300 S Summer St El Dorado Springs on Thursday, Oct. 15, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Carol led us in singing “At My Goal Weight”.

We said our TOPS and KOPS Pledges.

Susan called the meeting to order.

ARD review: Everyone had a great time in Clinton on Saturday, Oct. 3. We were so proud to have two division winners in our group. Our Chapter won the Gold Star Award. This certificate has been turned over to Marilyn for the scrapbook.

We honored Laura today. She reached her 100 lb. loss last week. Susan declared her “Queen for The Day” and presented her with a bouquet, and a bag of gifts. We are so proud of you Laura.

Susan said we needed to be thinking of dates for meetings during the holidays. Possibly in November we would meet on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and in December we would meet on Tuesday, Dec. 22. Be thinking about this, it will be discussed next week.

Susan thanked Robbie for letting us use her church while the Grace Methodist is unavailable.

Contest: Remember to let Robbie know if you lost weight or if a KOPS if you are at or below goal so you can get your name in the drawing for the Christmas tree skirt.

Marble game: The pot is at $28.50; Laura won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Linda H made a motion to pay Laura for the dress she got for ARD as stated in the by-laws. The cost was $10. Robbie 2nd and motion carried.

The Nov. 21 Parade was discussed. Linda H made a motion to participate in the parade, Marie 2nd motion carried. Jean will get the form completed and turned in.

Susan led us in roll call and walking report,

Twenty weighed in today, the chapter had a 6.2 gain and a 6.2 loss resulting in a 0-net gain/loss.

Sue C was the best loser with a loss of 1.8 lbs. Congratulations Sue.

The floor was then turned over to LJ who had the program today. She has been researching fast food restaurants and how can you eat healthy while traveling and using Fast food restaurants.

Some of her findings:

McDonalds has grilled chicken sandwiches with apple slices instead of fries.

Panera Bread has several healthy salads and you can order 1⁄2 an order.

Wendy’s has a Jr. Hamburger with a garden salad on the side

Starbucks has a breakfast sandwich made with egg whites.

Bottom line you can still eat healthy while traveling at fast food places, just read the menu

Thank you, LJ, for a great program.

Carol and Marilyn have the program next week. It will be a fun one, don’t miss it.

Warren needs people to sign up for programs for November and December

Until further notice we will meet at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Linda and Warren are assisting anyone who needs the chair lift and it works quite well.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with the quote for the day:

“Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give”
