TOPS CHAPTER 319 El Dorado Springs met in the Church of Christ meeting room on Thursday, June 24.

Our leader, Robbie, opened the meeting. Kay led us in singing “When Your Smiling.”

We said our pledges.

Marilyn led us in a series of exercises.

Robbie led us in roll call.

Twenty-Five weighed in today and the chapter had a 10.2 lb loss.

Susan was the week’s best loser with a loss of 3 lbs.  Congratulations Susan.

Robbie said the executive committee will meet today at 11 to go over the bylaws.  They will be presented to the chapter at the next meeting, June 30.

Angie won the right to draw a marble from the bag but did not draw the white one. The pot continues to grow.

Marilyn presented the program today. She took her program from a recent prevention magazine. She said you should nourish your body through movement. Focus on keeping your body moving during the day.

Choose the less covenant path. Park a ways from the door and walk to the store.

Movement all day is vital.  Compare your life with a “hunter, gather” lifestyle of long ago. Practice squatting, getting down to the ground and up. Start small and work up. Your body is stiff and sore from not using muscles to the full extent.

Marilyn showed us some exercises we can do to help stretch those unused muscles.

Thank you Marilyn for a very good program.

Warren reported on the contest, the present contest will end next week. He will have a new one to present to us then.

Robbie checked on the TOPS Summer Contest Rules. If you miss a weigh in you do not get the perfect attendance award. However if you lose weight and do the other required things you will still get an award for those things.

We welcome anyone who is interested in losing weight. That includes men, women, teenagers, and even children above the age of 7. We encourage and reward losses even as small as .2 of a pound.  We kid a lot about that awful .2 especially when it is a gain.  We do not shame you if you gain but help you explore what you might do to have a loss the next week. We have a lot of fun in the process. Today is the first day of the rest of your life as the saying goes so it is a good day to make a life changing decision. We often remind ourselves that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We are here to help you break the cycle and have fun doing it.  Please consider joining us.
