TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1300 S. Summer St., El Dorado Springs on Thursday, July 15, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Linda H, Leader called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “TOPS Is Great”

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

Linda H led us in roll call and walking report. Eighteen weighed in, we had a Gain of 5.6 and a Loss of 11.8 resulting in a Net loss of 6.2 lbs. Best loser of the week was Pat, with a 5 lb. loss. Congratulations Pat!

We welcomed Jan back today. After a long struggle with her knee, she is able to be home and attend the meetings.

We also welcome a new member today.

Robbie had the program; she said she felt we all needed some encouraging words so her program was based on encouraging words and thoughts.

Life is difficult at times but when everything turns bad even a turtle wins the race as long as he never gives up.

A few of her thoughts: Slow Down, Say Thank You, Smile, Take A Deep breath, compliment someone, focus on awesomeness, and think of three things you are grateful for.

Things to quit doing: quit trying to please others, quit fearing change, quit living in the past, quit putting yourself down and stop over thinking everything.

Cherish every person and moment in your life.

Thank you, Robbie, for a great program.

Contest: Laura presented a new contest “TOPS Ballgame.” It consists of two teams, Red & Blue. Each member was given a list of the player requirements. The contest would start today and go for six weeks. Jan made a motion to do this contest, Judy B 2nd motion passed.  Cost to enter is $1. Entering the contest is voluntary. As of today, team members are:

Blue team: Jean, Carol, Sue, Laura, Sharron, Warren, Linda C

Red team: Linda H, Margie, Jan, Pat, Robbie, Constance

Marble Game: Sue C won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Margie brought the tasting dish today. It was Italian Clean the Fridge Vegetarian Chili. She got the recipe from the TOPS Magazine January/February 2021, and it was delicious.

The Annual St Jude’s Walk/Run for a reason will be Saturday, July 24. Some of our members usually do this walk. If anyone plans to attend, they must sign up at Shelter Insurance.
