TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd., on Thursday, April 30, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our Leader, Warren called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “Happy Birthday TOPS.”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Warren led us in roll call, 17 members weighed in today, we had a gain of 2.4 pounds and a loss of 7.2 pounds, giving us a net loss of 4.8 pounds. Pat was the best loser of the week with a loss of 2.6. Other great losses were; Linda C, 2.4 and Phyllis, 1.4. Congratulations to all!

Erin presented the program today. She talked to us about the daily eating and exercise habits she has developed to lose over 50 pounds since joining TOPS.

Vegetables and fruits are a main part of her diet. As little processed foods as possible, she said “No Pizza Rolls” which must have been a favorite in the past.  She and her family focus mainly on homegrown fruits and vegetables, her favorite vegetables are corn, peas and lima beans. She does not drink sugary soft drinks, instead has sugar free “Ice Sparkling water,” and liquid IV which is sugar free and with added vitamins and minerals.

Her usual meat dishes are made from chicken and venison both processed by her family. She says her favorite is deer meat.

Her favorite snacks are  protein granola bars or peanuts.

Erin exercises on the elliptical and walks about two miles a day.  She also plays pickleball.

We are so proud of Erin, she has made such great progress and is dedicated to a healthy and sensible eating program.

Thank you Erin for sharing.

Contest:  The Summer/Chapter contest starts with today’s weigh in so be sure to put down your weight for today as it is the starting weight. Pat has contest sheets for those who want to enter.
