Carthage Christmas lights worth seeing

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will close on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 10 am. and will be closed from Jan. 1 through Sunday, Jan. 3, for the New Year’s holiday. She will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4, at her regular time. She is still having her Sunday buffet but she does not serve Sunday breakfast. She is open the rest of the week and she serves breakfast. She is closed every Wednesday.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman went with their friend, Mary Tomblison, to Joplin Saturday. They met some friends there, Joey Byram, Linda Byram and Veronica Baker. They went around Joplin to see some of the pretty Christmas lights and then they went to Webb City and went to see the pretty display and then they went to Carthage to see the really pretty half-mile display. It was called The Way of Salvation. They had a display of Noah’s Ark all around the route of the display. We waited about an hour to get into it. They had three different ways to get into it. It was well worth it to get into it. It is well worth it to go see.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday through Saturday from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. so people can get their mail, buy stamps and mail packages. The lobby is open 24 hours a day so people can get their mail out of their box.
