Connie Locke ate lunch with her father, Ben Locke, at Nevada Wednesday, June 15.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 19. Brother Jon Caudle Jr.’s sermon was taken from Luke 9. Brother Jon Caudle Sr., who had been in the hospital, was back and able to teach Sunday School again.

Several from the Harwood area attended the fundraiser for the Amish Stone Point School at the Fair Haven Park Friday evening, June 17.

Church service was held at the Schell City United Methodist Church Sunday, June 19. Pastor Connie Locke’s sermon, “Today” was taken from Matthew 6:30-34. Communion was held. This was the last Sunday that the Schell City United Methodist Church will be open. Flo Bea Allison, Norma jean Thomas, Edie McCoy and Paula Gray attended church service to wish Pastor Locke well in her new church. She will move on Tuesday. She will really be missed in the community. She did a lot for the community. Sunday School was held before church. Jeanie O’Brien let the lesson, “Assurance and Joy For the Faithful” taken from Zephaniah 3:9-14, 20.

Connie Locke wants to thank the Schell City United Methodist Church, the Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women and Madalyn Crocker, from Madalyn’s Kitchen, for the going away dinner they had for her on Sunday, June 12, and for everyone who attended from the Baptist and Christian churches in Schell and for the Horton and Metz United Methodist that attended the dinner. She said she really appreciated it. She is going to Marrionville church as the Schell church is closing its doors.
