News from Harwood and area

Ruth Ijams’s son, David O’Brien, of Texas spent a week with her doing some work for her. He visited with his sister, Peggy O’Brien, at Grandview and his sister, Jeanie O’Brien, at Schell City.

I talked to Connie Locke who was the former pastor at the Schell City United Methodist Church who had been there for eight years until they closed their doors on June 19. She is now at the Marionville United Methodist Church. She says she was doing real well and said to tell everyone hi.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, July 10. Brother Jon Caudle Jr.’s sermon was taken from Luke 11. Brother Jon Caudle Sr. taught the Sunday School class.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman had dinner at Pizza Hut at El Dorado Springs Sunday, July 10, with some friends. They had attended the Grace United Methodist Church Sunday.

The Harwood area had been getting a lot of rain the last several days which the farmers really needed.
