Hoping everyone had a happy Labor Day weekend. Here in the country, we celebrate Labor Day all year long; our animals still eat, weeds still grow, hay needs baled, the garden still producing, apples and pears need working up. The cornfields are turning brown, soybeans are growing. We are happy we can labor in the Mt. Zion Area.

School has started, as the school bus goes by, you could set your clock by it for the driver keeps a regular schedule. Hope everyone appreciates getting to ride the school bus like some of us old-timers did.

Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm, Belle is doing therapy now. Robin got the ATV all fixed up and is using it some, Belle doesn’t ride because God gave her four good legs and she knows how to use them. She can almost outrun Robin on the ATV. Robin still making Rabbit little people blankets.

Wanda Rector did enjoy family vacation even if it did rain five of the five days they were in Branson. Anytime is good with the family.

Tom and Beverly Pelkey will be celebrating their wedding anniversary this week. Tom has been working on the wood cutting for winter plus mowing the yard. Beverly is still feeding the hummingbirds and keeping busy. The wood fairy is still hanging around, Tom and the fairy are along just fine.

Dixie Peterson still doing good at therapy just wishing they will be able to have visitors soon. Don’t we all!

Mt. Zion Club will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 16, at Marge Zink’s home.
