Morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church Sunday by Pastor Nick Van Dam was “Sour Grapes.”

Mt. Zion Bible Study met in the home of Tom and Beverly Pelkey at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night; there were six in attendance.

Mt. Zion Club met Oct 19, in the Marge Zink home where seven ladies enjoyed the afternoon tacking lap robes for Veterans Home visiting and snacking; business was conducted by answering roll call of a spooky time in your life The treasurer and secretary reports were given and approved, election of officers and elected to serve Marge Zink as president, Mabel Siegismund as vice-president, Julia Snethen as secretary, Beverly Pelkey as treasurer and Wilma Williams as chaplin. Thank you note was read from our sponsored active serviceman Jason Williams for gifts from Mt. Zion Club.

Mt. Zion Community was saddened to learn of the passing of R.J. Davis. Interment will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, our condolences to the Davis family.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home were Mike Nelligan and Stacy Griffith. Dixie was feeling much better.

Enjoyed a phone call from Judy and Archie Pier former neighbors who live in South Carolina, they made it through the storm. Mathew had to go to a shelter but their home wasn’t damaged.

Cousin Mary Lou Parker, from Ozark and Shirley Moulat, from Taney Ville, were overnight visitors with Marge Zink; they all enjoyed touring around with Marge as their guide.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to enjoy soup, chili and dessert at the Taberville Fire Barn cooked by ladies to preserve the Old school house in Taberville. A quilt raffle and a 50-50 raffle will take place. They would like a donation of $5 per person, children five and under eat free; look forward to seeing you there.

Ron Thompson was home for the weekend and spent his time painting his room. John and Julia Snethen attended Clinton Chapter #73 Monday night and OATS meeting on Thursday. Julia went to Clinton after the meeting and ran some errands and visited with Maureen Wallace.
