Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) released a statement regarding today’s House vote on H.R. 6119, which would extend federal government funding through February 18, 2022. This bill would provide an infusion of funding — over $7 billion — to the Biden administration for Afghanistan Resettlement purposes. The Biden administration has already provided $6.3 billion in the previous continuing resolution.

This legislation also does not include an updated defense appropriations measure, thus negatively impacting military training, readiness, equipment, and personnel.

“Despite controlling the House, Senate and the White House, Democrats are in complete disarray to the point where they are struggling to even keep the lights on for our federal government.

This is just the latest example of their incompetence and inability to lead our nation. There are still Americans stranded in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, the Christmas season is more expensive for families due to the far-left’s reckless spending sprees in Washington, and our borders are overrun at record levels.

Now, Democrats’ plan to address another self-created problem — funding our government — is to kick the can down the road once again until February of next year. Their latest proposal shamefully includes money to support the administration’s heavily-criticized vetting process for non-citizens while lacking any updated defense spending measures —negatively impacting our military and further putting America’s national security at risk.

The absence of leadership by President Biden, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer to address our nation’s crises is indicative of a growing trend in their party: All talk and no action.”
