Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler made the following statement after passage of HR 133, the Bipartisan-Bicameral Omnibus & COVID Relief Package. Hartzler supported the legislation:

“This COVID relief package is a targeted effort to address the needs of Americans suffering from the continuing effects of this global pandemic. It provides economic relief for those in need while funding further testing and the development and distribution of the vaccine nation-wide.

Unlike earlier proposals, this legislation does not provide bailout funds for poorly managed states like New York and California where elected leaders have shut down their economies while other states like Missouri have kept people working. Missourians should not have to foot the bill for these poor decisions.

As we continue to battle the pandemic, this legislation offers a targeted response to the needs of Americans while providing vital funding for further research and production of vaccines and medical advances that will help restore our nation.”
