What’s going on in Washington— As your representative, I’m here to cut through the noise and set the record straight on the issues that matter to you. My office is your resource, your advocate, and your problem-solver. Today, I want to address the misinformation swirling around Medicaid reforms and share how we’re protecting the folks who need it most while ensuring your tax dollars are used wisely.

Let’s make one thing clear: the Democrats’ claims about Medicaid cuts are flat-out wrong. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which I proudly supported, doesn’t slash benefits for those Medicaid was designed to serve—pregnant women, children, students, seniors, and low-income families. Instead, it strengthens the program by cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse. That’s common-sense reform we can all get behind.

Starting Jany 1, 2027, there are new work requirements for able-bodied adults aged 18 to 65 without dependents. To continue receiving Medicaid or SNAP benefits, they’ll need to work, volunteer, or study for 80 hours a month, unless they’re exempt. Now, don’t let that worry you—exemptions are in place for parents, students, and those with disabilities. In fact, 92% of current recipients already meet these standards or qualify for exemptions. If you’re eligible, your benefits are safe.

But here’s the deal: if you’re in the 4th District, qualify for these programs, and somehow get wrongly kicked off, my office has your back. We’re not just here to talk—we’re here to fight for you. My team and I are committed to solving problems for our constituents, whether it’s navigating federal programs or cutting through bureaucratic blue tape.

That’s why we’re launching the Heartland Hotline. All you need to do is reach out, leave your name, number and a brief description of the issue you are facing, and we’ll get to work. This is about fairness, accountability, and making sure our safety net supports those who truly need it while encouraging self-reliance where it’s possible. It’s about serving you, the hardworking people of Missouri, with integrity and determination.

We’re ready to listen, act, and deliver results. So, if you’re facing an issue or just need clarity on these reforms, call the Heartland Hotline at (816) 281-6674. We’ll always work for you, and we’ll do it with the grit and heart of the Show Me State. God bless you, God bless Missouri, and God bless America.
