THE OPTIMIST CLUB WINS FIRST PLACE – It was another perfect day as the anonymous trio of judges gave the coveted 2016 First Place Chili award to the Optimist Club – Dennis Lunday cooker – during the 12th Annual Spring City Revitalization Group Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Oct. 15. Eight teams vied for the honor with Woods taking second place and the People’s Choice Award, Evans taking third place and Community Springs winning the best decorated booth award and the Humanitarian Award for collecting the most money for the Boy Scouts.
This year’s sponsors were Heritage State Bank, Woods Supermarket, Pete’s and Evans.
