School Board meets Nov. 17

The El Dorado Springs School Board met Thursday, Nov. 17, with six members present – Chad Whitesell, Benny Brower, Allen Hoover, Josh Floyd, Greg Beydler and Darrell Eason – presiding. Scott Cluck was absent.

The board approved advertising for board candidates from Dec. 13 – Jan. 17. The three seats to be filled are currently occupied y Darrell Eason Allen Hoover and Scott Cluck.

The representatives of 360 Energy were present to make their presentation about reducing the school’s energy costs through more energy efficient lighting, thermostat controls and roofing.

The board accepted, with regrets, the resignation of Building and Grounds Director Bob Cornell for retirement Dec. 30.

The board scheduled a meeting for Dec. 1 to look further at the 340 proposals.

The board approved the payment of bills totaling $46,442.58.

The board received a request from Northeast Vernon County R-1 School let their Middle School football team play with ElDo. The board did not take action on the request.

The board approved an early graduation list but did not release the names.

The board approved a new list  of meal prices from Oppa.

Supt. Koca said of the approval of the bond issue, “All-in-all, it’s pretty exciting.”
