There are plenty of family events to occupy your time this Sasturday, Oct. 15, in El Dorado Springs.

This will be the 12th year for the Spring City Reviltaztion Group Chili Cookoff. Cookers and other vendors will be set up on West Spring. Cooking starts at 9 a.m. and the public tasting is at 11:30. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 the day of the cook-off. You can buy tickets at The El Dorado Springs Sun office or the Toshua Barnes-McCormick State Farm Agency.

The day actually begins at 7 a.m. with a breakfast at the American Legion. The 48th Annual Arts and Crafts Show begins at 8 a.m. in the Old Community Building in the Park. The Fun Committee (Friends Uniting Neighbors) will have activities in the Park throughout the day.

At 9 a.m. the ribbon will be cut on the Highway 54 Sidewalk to the Future. There will also be the FFA Heroes against Hunger Run after the ribbon cutting. The event starts at the west end of the sidewalk at Woods.
