Our nation today is facing a challenging time, perhaps the most challenging 200 plus year history. Not just the fear of terrorism, the risk of an economic collapse or the threats of war, but because we have drifted away from the founding principles and values that made the USA the greatest free society the world has ever known.

Most of the problems our country is facing today can be traced back, at least in some part, to a departure from these basic principles laid out by our founding fathers in forming the constitution. If we, the people of our nation would hold to the ideals that we could put our nation back on track, restoring it to the greatness it once knew. But, how can we, your generation and mine return a nation to the principles many of us never knew or barely can remember. A lot of the modern history books have left off what the basic principles where.

The pilgrims sailed for a new world in America that offered the promise of both civil and religious liberty. We must know these fundamental principles of freedom and values. We must work together to preserve them through our voices, service and through our votes.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
