John and Georgia (Friar) Detwiler of El Dorado Springs celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on June 12, 1971, at First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs. John is a retired postal employee from the Nevada Post Office and Georgia is a retired teacher and elementary librarian from the El Dorado Springs School District.
Their children are Michelle (Detwiler) Leroux and spouse Richard Leroux, and the late Brent Detwiler. Their grandchildren are Juris Allen-Ira Leroux, Morgan Victoria-Detwiler Lucas and her sister, Emma Lucas.
Friends and family are invited to attend an open house given in their honor, Friday, July 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 300 N. Main (northwest corner of Martin and Main Streets). There will also be a celebration for John’s 70th birthday during the event.
