Daytime traffic across the Dade County Hwy. H bridge over Stockton Lake north of Greenfield will be reduced to one lane beginning the week of Oct. 3, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

It’s part of a project to rehabilitate the deck, or driving surface, of the bridge.

Drivers can expect some delays, with flaggers directing drivers across the bridge.

Then, the week of Oct. 24, the bridge will be CLOSED to all traffic.

Drivers should follow the signed detour, using U.S. Route 160, Missouri Route 39 and Dade County Route Y.

Signs and electronic message boards will alert drivers to the bridge work.

The work is being done during the winter months at the request of the community to avoid the busy summer tourism season at Stockton Lake.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
