October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Raising awareness. It is an opportunity to increase understanding of the disease and to raise funds for research on its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The 60 cent Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp covers First-Class Mail postage plus generates funds for this important cause.

To date, the Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp has raised more than $80. 1 million for breast cancer research.

The law mandates that 70 percent of these funds are allocated to the national Cancer Institute and 30 percent to the Breast Cancer Research Program of the Department of Defense. A sheet of 20 stamps currently sells for $12. Of which nearly $2.20 goes toward research.

You may purchase the Breast Cancer stamp from your Carrier by leaving this slip and a check for $12 for each sheet of 20 Breast Cancer Stamps you wish to purchase (please write ‘Breast Cancer Stamp’ in the memo line). Your carrier will deliver the stamps to your box.
