The local genealogical society is offering a free program that will feature how to jump start your family history research by using free Missouri online newspapers.

This program will show how to access digital newspapers from your home computer and how to print or save that information to share with family members. A handout will be available for attendees.

The program is free and will be held at the Nevada Library Annex, 200 W. Walnut St., Nevada, beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 19.

Those who have a laptop computer or other device to access the internet are invited to bring their personal equipment to conduct actual searches during the program. A limited number of computers will also be available for participants’ use, and a USB drive is recommended for saving articles.

The program will be provided by the Cedar and Vernon County Genealogical Society, and more information is available at https://vernon.mogenweb.org/.
