Blane Gray, 83, was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Osceola to Claude Gray and Dolly (Mullins) Gray. He passed away Sept. 2, 2016 in El Dorado Springs at Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

Blane was a painter and dry waller for many years. He also trained trial dogs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolly Gray, and father, Claude Gray; brothers, Joe Gray and Zane Gray; sisters, Ila Dean and Hilda, and his son, Buddy Blane.

Blane is survived by his wife Jo; son, Mark and wife, Paula; daughter, Terry, and stepdaughter, Linda Snow, and husband, Clayton; grandchildren – Laura and Sarah Gray, Douglas, Jennifer and Heather Sheets and Courtney Barbour; great-grandchildren – Gabby, Dalton, Blane, Logan, Jaycee, Gracie and Cody; brother, Robert Gray; sisters – Mary, Nelda and Lona Jean, along with many friends.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola, with Pastor Carl Butler and Pastor Sharon Butler officiating. Music was  “Grandpa Told Me So,” “The Lighthouse” and “In The Valley” sung by Pastor Carl Butler and Jamie Malone. Casketbearers were Daniel M. Talamonte, Danny Talamonte, Jack Gray, Alex Hopkins, Tommy Gray and Wayne Gray. Interment was in Kidds Chapel Cemetery, Osceola, under direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
