Danny Ray Marquis

Danny Ray Marquis, 58, Independence, passed away in Texas on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017.

Danny was born Jan. 19, 1958, in Kansas City the son of James Russell Marquis and Imogene (Leonard) Marquis. Danny graduated from Raytown High School. 

Danny and his wife, Alice, had been married for 25 years.

Danny worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 31 plus years as a driller, working on dams around the country. He retired in June of 2016.

Preceeding Danny in death were grandparents, Avery and Thelma Leonard; grandparents, Otha and Cornelia Marquis; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Marquis; parents, James and Imogene Marquis; sister, Donna Dutton; two nieces; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel.
