Delmar Martin, 75, rural Schell City, passed away at his home on Thursday morning, Oct. 27, 2016. Delmar was born Sept. 17, 1941, at Lanton, MO.

Delmar married Pat Boyd on May 27, 1961. They were married 55 years. To this union, one son was born.

Delmar retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 1/2 years. He loved to work, hunt, fish and raise a big garden. He kept the yard looking like a green carpet.

Delmar was a member of Pape Christian Church.

Preceding Delmar in death were his parents, Paul and Mae Martin; his brother, Gary; his in-laws, Earl and Fern Boyd; and brother-in-law, Sammy Lee Schmidt.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of the home; their son, Dale, and wife, Carol, of Butler; granddaughters – Rachel and husband, Jason Yarborough – Myrtle Beach, SC, Michel Martin – Belton and Bethany Martin and Henry Peal – Belton; step – granddaughters, Lindsey and Sheldon Tiehes – Butler and Samantha and Seth Kagarice; great-granddaughters, K’Lee and MaKayla Yarborough and Lilly Peal; step-great-grandchildren, Serenity and Sayer Tiehes and Kyndle and Kyndra Kagarice; his brother, Jim, and wife, Cheryl Martin – Koshkonong; his sister, Paula, and husband, Curt Brown – West Plains; sister-in-law, Rosemary Schmidt – New Sharon, IA; niece, Stephanie Pritchett; nephews – Kevin Brown, Karl Schmidt and Kalvin Schmidt; and several great nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 29, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Dennis Wallen and Brent Bland officiated. Burial followed in Taberville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Randon Marshall, Lindell Marshall, Troy Lasley, Carl Nelson, Donnie Burchett, Roman Altoff and Randy Marshall. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Burchett, Ray Bozarth and Larry Hadsell.

Memorial donations may be made to help the family with expenses and left at the funeral home.
