Oscar “Tom” Thompson, 86, El Dorado Springs, passed away Oct. 27, 2016, at Moore-Few Nursing Home in Nevada. Tom was born March 11, 1930, in El Dorado Springs, to Oscar G. and Hattie May (McCurdy) Thompson.

Tom served in the Air Force after high school. Later he worked for many years as an engineer for General Motors in Kansas City. After his retirement, he moved back to El Dorado Springs.

One pastime for Tom was playing the guitar.

Preceding Tom in death were his parents and his wife, Mary (Redford) Thompson.

Survivors include two daughters, Gaye Lynn Thompson – Nevada and Sasha Thompson – Portland, OR; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers – Lewis Thompson, Robert Thompson and wife, Janice, and Clarence Howard Thompson and wife, Judy; two sisters, Betty June Stacy and husband, Leroy and Bonnie Joan Henricks and husband, Tom; and one sister-in-law, Stella Thompson.

Services were held on Monday, Oct. 31, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Trussell officiating. Burial followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were David Hines, Troy Alexander, Nick Chadd, Jacob Gammon, Mike Compton, Jeff Moore and Pap Ray.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus and left at the funeral home.
