Harold Eugene Hunt, Jr., or as most of his family called him, Jr., 60, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home in Excelsior Springs.
Jr. was born July 26, 1961, to Harold and Sondra (Neely) Hunt. He was soon joined by a younger brother, Daniel Gene, and several years later by a little sister, Misti Dawn. Jr. became a father in September 1983 to daughter, Courtney Jill, and over the years became a granddad to three grandchildren: Logan, Katelyn, and Lincoln.
Growing up, Jr. played on many different ball fields and made many friends along the way. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing and, of course, watching the Chiefs play.
Jr. worked with Nielsen Construction for more than 35 years, finishing concrete all over the Kansas City area. His family has many precious memories of Jr. growing up. He was a quiet man who enjoyed listening to all the old stories his uncles told. He would smile his little quirky smile and shake his head a bit as he visited with friends and family.
Jr. is survived by his daughter, Courtney Smith, and husband, Gary; grandchildren: Logan, Katelyn, and Lincoln Smith; brother, Daniel Hunt; sister, Misti Hunter, and husband, Curtis; nieces, Sondi and Sadie Hunter; and nephew, Waylon Hunter.
Jr. will be missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service for Jr. Hunt was held Saturday, May 21, at Wright Cemetery with Rev. Brent Bland officiating under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Brad Leonard, Chris Julian, Mitch Julian, Waylon Hunter, Brian Chism and J.P. Nielsen.
