Iona L. Reeves turner, 91, passed away Nov. 7, 2023. She was born July 31, 1932 to the late George and Beulah Reeves on the family farm northeast of Filley in Cedar County. She was the fourth child in a family of eight brothers and sisters.

Iona married Marvin Turner on June 16, 1951. They established their home in Stockton and then later in El Dorado Springs. She was an avid gardener, card player and decorator. She excelled as a home chef and seamstress completing many sewing projects for family and friends. The used her creativity in the jewelry she designed and created. Throughout her life, Iona loved to dance. She started at an early age attending neighborhood square dances and went dancing all over the area. She supported many activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Iona served in the community as a Cub Scout leader, 4-H leader, polling place election judge and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Iona is survived by her daughter, Beverly Kropf (Marty) Sarcoxie; grandson, Scott Turner (Lori) Bolivar; granddaughter, Crystal Turner – Bolivar; daughter-in-law, Georgianna Turner – Bolivar; three great-grandsons, Anthony, Bryce and Carsyn Turner and one great-great=granddaughter, Maddie. Other survivors include two sisters of El Dorado Springs, Doris Jasnocha and Carol Dodd, one brother, Paul Reeves (Judy) Joplin, many nieces and nephews and treasured friends.

In addition to her parents, Iona was preceded in death by husband, Marvin; son, Donald and siblings, Earl Reeves, Melba DeShazo, Mable Fowler and Lee Reeves.

Iona touched the lives of many family and friends during her long life and will be fondly remembered.

Graveside committal of ashes will be private and placed next to her husband, Marvin, in the Stockton Cemetery.
