James Edward Mowry, 85, born Jan. 30, 1936, to Edward M. and Dorothy (Albright) Mowry, passed from this life on April 29, 2021 at Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs.
Among James special interests was his love for classic cars and taking time to fish. Serving his church and community was high on his priority list and he loved doing so. While he possessed the skill, focus and creativity of an overall craftsman, James was a phenomenal candy maker. Last, but not least, James was enamored with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Dorothy Mowry.
James is survived by his wife, Marie M. Mowry, of 43 years; daughters, Renee and (Darrin) Martin of Wrightwood, CA, Rhonda and (Brian) Daw of Sierra Vista, AZ, RaeAnn and (Robert) Lehmann of Nevada, Mary Mowry of California, Elaine Mowry of California, Margaret Mowry and (Randal Evans) of Bakersfield, California; one son, James and (Jenny) Mowry of Washington State; sisters, Joanne Dickey of Grand Prairie, TX, Frances and (Ray) Hand of Arkansas, and Nancy Joyce of Joplin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church, El Dorado Springs.
