On the afternoon of Dec. 8, 2023, Judith Ellen Dingley, 82, went to be with Jesus at the Community Springs Healthcare Facility in her hometown of El Dorado Springs. Judy was a beautiful spirit who lived life to its fullest and cared about others far beyond herself. She was born at St. Margret’s Hospital in Kansas City, KS, on March 28, 1941, and was an only child.

Throughout her formative years, she lived in Kansas City, KS, and several southern Missouri towns. She attended Osceola High School, where she graduated in 1959. Following graduation, she moved back to Kansas City, KS, where she was employed by the telephone company and lived with Linda Howe, Phyllis, Lyndel, Nancy and Doris, all of whom had attended Osceola High School.

She moved home with her parents for a few months and worked at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, performing lab work. When she encountered the medical field, she fell in love with helping others. She spent the next 40 years of her life in the medical field. Judith obtained her LPN, then specialized in surgery, which took her overseas to places like Saudi Arabia and beyond. During those years she went back to school and obtained her Registered Nursing Degree, which she utilized in many different disciplines.

She returned to El Dorado, Springs after her father passed away to take care of her mother for her remaining years. Serendipitously when she returned, she held many positions at Community Springs Healthcare Facility, of which being a Nursing Educator was her favorite.

She is survived by her two sons, Kevin (Bea) and Todd Reach (Debora); three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She loved to travel both locally and internationally. Her travels took her all over the world. She was member of TOPS, Red Hat Society, Garden Club and was active member at the Pape Christian Church in Tiffin. She was an amazing artist, photographer and a vivacious reader of novels.

Service for Judith Dingley was held at 10 a.m. Dec. 12, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Dennis Wallen officiating. Visitation was at 9:00 a.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Interment followed at El Dorado Springs Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Pape Christian Church has invited friends and family to join them for lunch following the grave side service.

In lieu of flowers, please provide an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, for which she collected toys throughout many years.
