Larry Joseph Roberts, 72, passed away at Cedar County Memorial Hospital under Hospice Care on Oct. 9, 2020, with his family surrounding him. His wife, Twyla Kay (Hines) Roberts; son, Aaron Christopher Roberts; daughter, Tara Jennett (Roberts) Henderson, her husband, Jeremy, and their two sons, Jace Tegan, and Layden Douglas; grandsons and two granddaughter not present, Veronica Brooklyn Roberts, and Charlize Rene Roberts.
Larry belonged to the Santa Fe Trailers Square Dance Club in Buckner while living in Blue Springs.
Upon returning to El Dorado Springs, he became a member of the Loin’s Club, was a member of the United Methodist Church, opened his own business, K & R Construction and Plumbing and served five years as a Councilman on the El Dorado Springs Council.
Larry loved to golf just for fun, he painted oil landscape pictures, learned taxidermy, drew and built large scale model airplanes, built his own duck blind boat all by hand.
Larry was an amazing man who was skilled in various trades. Iron Workers Union Local 10, his business, K & R Construction and Plumbing and his cattle farm. He loved to hunt and fish until he was no longer able to in 2018. He was always willing to help or lend a hand to his fellow man.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph (Jack) Delbert Roberts, and Saleta Ellen (Roby) Roberts; tow sisters, Brenda Carol Tuttle, and Judy Kay Wallace.
Celebration of Life for Larry will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church.
