Pamela Eileen (Norval) Shumaker, 58, El Dorado Springs, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 10, 2020, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1961, in El Dorado Springs, the daughter of Joseph M. Norval and Doris A. (Wilson) Norval.

Pam graduated from El Dorado Springs High School, Class of 1980. Following graduation, she married Gene Shumaker of Nevada. Pam’s hobbies included writing poetry, riding horses and listening to Jon Bon Jovi in her spare time.

Pam was a loving daughter, wife, mother and aunt, who always put others before herself. She loved her animals and always had them by her side. She was a member of the Riverview Bible Church where she was baptized in the Sac River. She lived her life every day to serve others, showing that she was a Christian woman in everything that she did.

Pam struggled with illnesses throughout her life, but she never let that get her down or take the joy out of life. Her family was her world, and she never knew anyone who wasn’t a friend. Pam had a very fun-loving spirit from the time she was born, and she expressed that with her brothers and sisters constantly while growing up. She always loved spending the holidays with family and friends, but Christmas was her favorite.

Preceding Pam in death were her grandparents, Bill and Doris Wilson; grandmother, Adele Wilson, and mother-in-law, Martha Shaw.

Survivors include her parents, Joe and Doris Norval; husband, Gene Shumaker; sons, Dustin Shumaker (Tiffany Dohn) and Devin (Brooke) Shumaker; brothers, Rusty (Jill) Norval and Joey (Theresa) Norval; sister, Kathy (Myron) Rapp; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be: Levi Rapp, Jacob Rapp, Nick Norval, Nathan Murry, Brian Keith and Scott Keith. Honorary pallbearers will be: Rusty Norval, Myron Rapp, Gary Shumaker, Fred Keith and Michael Shaw.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Norval officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Springs (Oyer) Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16,  at Bland-Hackleman.
