Leslie Wooten, 67, El Dorado Springs, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away July 26, 2016, in Springfield.

He was born in Hamburg, IA, to Irene (Cook)Wooten and Clyde Wooten.

Les served in the Air Force, including a tour of Vietnam and was a Staff Sgt. at the time of his discharge.

He was a retired Corrections Officer from the Missouri Department of Corrections in St. Joseph and had previously worked for the government, was a truck driver, an adventurer and avid motorcycle rider. He loved his Guzzis.

He is survived by his son, Matt Wooten and wife, Angela, grandsons, Doltyn and Gavyn, of Gower. Also surviving is his mother, Irene Turner, and sister, Rita Greer, of St. Joseph, his loving partner, Claire Mooney, of the home and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Lonnie Wooten, sister, Janet Wren, and step-father, Bill Turner.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
