Lyle Onckelet

We lost our friend, Lyle Onckelet, 71, Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, after a series of health struggles. He was born June 17, 1955 in Cedar Count, MO. His father, Leonard, was a blacksmith and machinist and mother, Melba, worked at the Nevada Habilitation Center.

Lyle was the oldest of five children being raised with brother, Lyndon, and sisters, Judy Ann, Carol Jean and Janice Irene.

The family lived near Dedrick and Lyle attended school in El Dorado Springs, graduating with the Class of 1973. Shortly thereafter he went to work for the City of ElDo then later worked as a mechanic and local handyman. He loved working on his trucks and tractors.

Lyle had a keen artist talent, something that he handed down to his only daughter, Shannon Love.

Lyle will long be remembered by his family and friends for his lifetime love of his cats.
