Mary Ellen Maus

Mary Ellen Maus, 89, Nevada, formerly of Schell City, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada.

Mary was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Schell City to Roy and Daisey (Robinson) Davis.

She was united in marriage to Claude David Maus on Nov. 20, 1945.  To this union was born four sons, David, John, Danny and Charles Maus.

Survivors include one son, David Maus, Schell City; one brother, Larry (Squab) Davis – Schell City; four sisters, Dixie Huffman – Rockville, Bonnie Heath – Nevada, Wanda Davis – Norborne, and Betty Souza – Walker; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Daisey Davis; three sons, John Maus, Danny Maus and Charles Maus; three brothers, Laroy (Sunny) Davis, Dean Davis and Robert (Butch) Davis; and three sisters, Shirley Davis, Lavona Majors and Clara Davis.

Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Schell City, the United Methodist Women and the Schell City Community Betterment.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City with Bro. Doug Reynolds officiating.  Casket bearers were David Maus, Jr., Eric Maus, Trevor Seitz, Jason Maus, Jacob Maus and Jeremy Maus.

Memorials are suggested to the Schell City Community Betterment or the Schell City Fire Department in c/o Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home.
