Nancy Ann (Miller) Harris, 88, was born Nov. 29, 1934 in El Dorado Springs to James and Annetta (Burrus) Miller She had one brother, Eddie, and two sisters, Donna and Mary.

Nancy attended El Dorado Springs High School and graduated in the class of 1952. Nancy married Ernest “Ernie” Harris on Dec. 24, 1953. They had three sons: Terry, Steve and Fred and lived in El Dorado Springs. Nancy was an avid bowler at the El Dorado Lanes that was owned by her sister, Donna, and her family. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper at Fugate Motors for many years.

Nancy was very active in the community. After retirement, she was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered regularly. She was also a member of the bridge club, red hat ladies and a long-time member of First Baptist Church.

Nancy was beloved by her family, and remembered for her sense of humor, love of coffee and Christmas and her crafting skills.

Nancy is survived by her sisters, Donna and Mary; three sons, Terry, Steve and Fred and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Brandi VanAntwerp, and husband, Rick, Sean Harris, Ben Harris, and Lydia Pearson and husband, Tyler; and three great-grandsons, RJ and Leo VanAntwerp, and Brody Pearson.

Nancy started to decline on Christmas Eve and passed away the morning of Dec. 26, 2022. The family feels this is a fitting time to go, as Christmas Eve was her wedding anniversary with her lifelong love, Ernie. We all imagine the lovebirds are happy to be reunited.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Jan. 27, at the El Dorado Springs First Baptist Church. And a family internment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage a donation to the El Dorado Springs Senior Center in care of Sheldon Funeral Home.

One last note is for the Community Springs Healthcare Facility of El Dorado Springs.  The love, devotion and caring and attention you gave to ALL will never be forgotten.  What loving people you are!
