Oren Harold Campbell, 90, El Dorado Springs, passed away at his home on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024.

Oren was born June 7, 1934, to John and Opal Campbell, near Ellicott, CO. He was the fourth of five children. He moved with his family to El Dorado Springs when he was in elementary school. Oren graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1953.  He met the love of his life, Ruth Ellen (Pentecost) Campbell, his senior year in High School.  They married and settled in El Dorado Springs raising three children, Debbie, David and Rebekah.

As a young man, Oren had several jobs ranging from driving the milk truck to being a police officer.  In 1964 he was hired on at the Sac Osage REA in El Dorado Springs where he worked for 31 years. Oren was well thought of at Sac Osage and mentored many young men who were hired on after him.

In addition to being a dedicated husband, father and grandpa, Oren was a farmer.  He loved John Deere tractors; farming with them, haggling over them and collecting them. Oren was a talented craftsman and made many pieces of furniture and remodeled every home he lived in.

Oren is survived by his little sister, Carol Hoerning; sister-in-law, Mary Breshears; daughter, Deborah Campbell; son, David Campbell; daughter, Rebekah Campbell; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Campbell; five grandchildren: Melissa, Shawn, Adriana (Nate), Ian and Taylor.  He is also survived by his four great-grandchildren.  Oren was a favorite with his many nieces and nephews who will miss their “Uncle Oren.”
