Patricia May Purinton, age 67, Joplin, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 at her home.

Patricia was born April 3, 1954, in Kansas City, to the late Harold Trussell and Ollie (Reiber) Kramer. Patricia joined Gary Purinton in marriage in Kansas City. She worked as a laundromat attendant for most of her life. She enjoyed working around the house and planting flowers. She was a homebody and loved playing games on her tablet, watching “The Voice” and cooking shows. Sundays, you would find her watching her favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Patricia loved her children and was the greatest mom. She was an amazing cook and it wasn’t unheard of to have the whole family over for her famous fried chicken. To the grandchildren, she was memaw.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Gary Purinton in May of 1992; step-mom, Esther Trussell; step-dad, Bruce Kramer; siblings, Mary Jane Mays, Charolette Hoover, Jeff Trussell, Dana Cox, and Carol Adams.

Survivors include her four children, Lisa Trussell of Joplin, Lori Etcheson and husband, Nickolous of Joplin, Jesse Sprinkle of Joplin, James Sprinkle of Joplin; one half-daughter, Tina Knight of Kansas City; four siblings, Jake Trussell, Dale Trussell, Susan Trussell, and Letha Nelson; several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren, Dayton, DaKoda, DaLisa, Breah, Brylynn, Brently, Brecken, Bailey, Larynn, Briar, Beatrix; one great-grandchild, Davina.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
