Boyer, Richard 1ccRichard Carl “Dick” Bowlin, 69, the only child of Harry and Margaret (James) Bowlin, passed away May 29, 2016, in Springfield. Richard was born Oct. 8, 1946.

He moved to Missouri with his parents when he was a young child and grew up in the Tiffin area.

Richard excelled on the Debate Team in High School and in spite of an arm disability due to a birth defect, he played baseball and trombone in band.

He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1964 and attended Drury College and London School of Economics.

He has lived in Pensacola, FL, and Kuwait working as a contractor. He has served on the National Board of Habitat For Humanity and worked for the Missouri Committee to legalize riverboat gambling.

Richard was predeceased by his parents and was living in Nevada and caring for his mother at the time of her death. Most recently, he has lived in Canada and Springfield.

Richard is fondly remembered by classmates.

Graveside services for Richard will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Clintonville Cemetery with Lewis Ray Eslinger officiating.

Final disposition – cremation burial.
