Spoonbilling is decent from a boat. If you have a live scope you can locate the bigger fish. Fishing from the bank is tough.

If we get the predicted rain and the river rises a little and has some current, the spoonbilling will be fantastic the middle of next week. It will even be good from the bank. In fact, I prefer to fish from the bank at a time like that.

On the other hand, if we get a huge rain the puts the river out of its banks, the spoonbills will go upriver to Hwy. 71 and beyond.

Blue cats are still biting. Crappie are biting, It’s time for them to go to the bank somewhere.

We are open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Closed Mondays.

Fishing hasn’t been very good this spring. They occasionally catch a few white bass and some crappie off the bridge up against the dam. Earth worms seem to work the best. Minnows are second.

The wind hasn’t kept people from casting to the dam.

Our hours are 9-6 and Sundays 9-5.

Fishing wasn’t as good today(Friday) as it’s been all week. The problem was the wind. The big female crappie are on the banks, but the wind may drive them off.

Crappie are starting to show up on the brush piles.

Walleye are starting to hit on the points on bottom bouncers 15 to 20 ft. deep.

I use paddle tails in natural colors on a 3/32 oz. jig head on 10 lb. braided line.

The predicted rain may hurt the fishing if it muddies the water.

Our hours are 8-5.

It’s raining here at noon on Saturday. There are some people out fishing for walleye and crappie but they won’t say where they are fishing or what they are catching. I’ve sold minnows and worms. Water temp. Is 58 degrees.

I’m finding mushrooms – some little grays and some morels. I expect more will pop with the rain we’re getting and heat that will follow.

Our hours are 9-4.
