Requested an additional finger print machine for CCW’s and court ordered finger printing to reduce public access to the interior of the jail, exposure to inmates, and potential spread of COVID. This item is sourced through State of Missouri. Prices range from $6,590 to $16,000 but the Sheriff feels the lowest cost of $6,590 would be sufficient for these needs with a 5 day a week annual maintenance contract.
Motion by Foster to approve the purchase for the fingerprinting machine at $6,590 with the 8 hr x 5 day a week annual maintenance contract at a rate of $2,415 for one year, subsequent years will be covered by the Sheriff through one of his special funds, i.e. Sheriff Revolving Fund as that is where CCW revenue is deposited; second by Boultinghouse. Boultinghouse – Yes, Foster – Yes, Collins – Absent
Sheriff requested consideration of adding GPS tracking to 15 sheriff units. He currently has a quote from Verizon for $3,411 p/yr. After further discussion consideration for adding GPS to the road and bridge might reduce the overall monthly cost per unit if adding more units and would provide assistance in FEMA projects for the road and bridge department. Sheriff to check with Verizon on cost to add more units. County Clerk to check with insurance for potential premium reduction for having GPS. A GPS demo has been requested to ensure accurate service in our remote areas. A representative from Verizon will present the demonstration on 11/23/2020.
