The Cedar County Commission met May 23, 2016. Present were – Marlon Collins, presiding commissioner; Don Boultinghouse, northern commissioner; John A. Fox, southern commissioner; Peggy Kenney, county clerk.

Minutes from May 16, 2016, were approved.

Met with Road and Bridge Department.

Linda Durham reported 1450 Rd was in need of repair.

Kenny Long, Sun Newspaper, discussed CAFO Ordinance.

Mary Norell, City of Stockton, discussed Economic Developer grant.

S&H Equipment discussed a used tractor and boom cutter they had available.

Reviewed monthly report submitted by Ty Gaither, prosecuting attorney.

Aubrey Foster discussed pawn shop.

Danny Schwartz reported he was building a chicken barn on 425 Rd; 2,500 chickens.

Rick Vance, candidate for State Representative discussed state issues he was concerned about.

Bills and payroll were approved to be paid.

Tom Bryant, candidate for southern commissioner, set in on meeting.

Met with Chad Pyle, assessor, to process court 21147 through 21153 to add-on the assessed valuation of newly purchased personal  property.

The following candidates for southern commissioner were present: Tom Bryant, Robert Foster, and Kevin Stockton.

Tim Theilan discussed a potential beef feedlot being placed off 215 Hwy on 360 acres; was given copy of CAFO Ordinance, permit application.

Met with Leon Dwerlkotte, sheriff.

Signed Deputy Supplemental Salary Report.

Marge Vance, economic developer, gave update.

Bills were approved and paid.

Met with Chad Pyle, assessor, to process court 21203 through 21215 to add-on the assessed valuation of newly purchased personal property.
