A Cold Weather Reminder from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office

As temperatures drop, we understand the temptation to leave your vehicle running to warm up while you stay inside. However, please do not leave your car running unattended with the keys in the ignition.

• Why? Unattended vehicles are an easy target for thieves. Leaving them running increases the chance of your car being stolen.

• What to Do Instead? Use remote start systems, if available, or bundle up while waiting inside your locked car.

Your safety and property are important to us. Let’s work together to keep Cedar County safe this winter!

Stay warm, stay safe,
