Message from the Chief Deputy
Fireworks Safety Reminder
As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, I want to remind everyone to enjoy the holiday responsibly especially when it comes to fireworks.
Fireworks can be fun, but they can also be dangerous. Every year, we see injuries, fires, and noise complaints that could have been avoided with a little extra caution.
Here are a few quick safety tips:
-Only use fireworks in legal areas and follow local regulations
-Never allow children to handle fireworks
-Keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby
-Don’t relight duds wait and soak them in water
-Be respectful of neighbors, pets, and veterans who may be sensitive to loud noises
If you plan to drink, leave the driving and fireworks to someone sober. Let’s make this holiday memorable for the right reasons.
For non-emergencies: (417) 276-5133
Have a fun, safe, and respectful Fourth of July, Cedar County!
Chief Deputy
Clay Jeffries
