Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 133 requests for assistance this past week, Aug.3 – 9. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance 17, Animal Control 12, Assist Other Agencies 26, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 78, Summons 5.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On August 10, 2020, Officers responded to 600 South Kirkpatrick concerning a report of stolen license plates. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 11, 2020, Officers arrested Erika Comstock, 49, of El Dorado Springs, on an active Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear with the original charge of Domestic Assault 4th Degree and no bond and El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear with the Original Charge of Dog Running At Large and a bond of $126.00. Comstock was released with a new court date on the El Dorado Municipal Warrant and was transferred to Vernon County pending bond or a court appearance.

On August 11, 2020 Officers arrested Amanda M. Miller, 27, of El Dorado Springs charging her with a Misdemeanor charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was released of summons pending a court appearance.

On August 11, 2020, officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle, apartment 20, concerning a reported Larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of $157.00 cash and a child support card. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.

On August 12, 2020, Officers responded to the station for a delayed report of a stolen firearm that occurred at 610 South Main Street.  The investigation revealed the theft of a Beretta handgun. The firearm was recovered, a suspect has been identified, and the investigation is continuing.

On August 13, 2020, officers responded to 311 East Spring concerning a reported Larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of packages containing clothes. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 14, 2020, officers arrested Shaeffer B. Johnson, 21, of El Dorado Springs on an active El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of Failure to Stop and Failure to Show Financial Responsibility with a bond of $261.50 cash or surety.

On August 14, 2020, officers responded to 500 East Fields Lot 2 concerning a reported Larceny. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 14, 2020 Officers responded to 209 West Gay Street concerning a reported Burglary. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On August 15, 2020, officers responded to 502 South Forest concerning a report of stealing. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

The department received a total of 133 requests for service.
