In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 108 requests for assistance this past week, June 14-June 20. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 15, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 6, All Other Requests for Assistance 63, Summons 13.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On June 15, 2021, officers arrested John W Sant, 18, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing and Minor in Possession of Alcoholic Beverage. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance. 

On June 15, 2021, officers arrested Shaeffer B Johnson, 22, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Wrong License Plates with a $100.00 cash bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On June 15, 2021 officers responded to 110 West Martin for a reported vehicle theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a 2009 Nissan Versa, hand-held leaf blower, curved shaft weed eater, 12 to 14 inch chainsaw and an orbital sander. The vehicle and items were later recovered in Nevada, Missouri. A suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

On June 15, 2021, officers arrested Dani L. McRae, 31, of Springfield, for a Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Probation Violation on the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and a CAPIAS bond.   She was transferred to the Vernon County Jail.

On June 15, 2021, officers responded to 135 West Spring concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a cell phone. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Linda L Shifflett, 39, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On June 18, 2021, officers responded to 1603 South Missouri 32 Highway concerning a Domestic Assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Dustin Dowdell, 39, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On June 19, 2021, officers arrested Gerald Deeser, 40, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked, Possession of Marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 11-35 grams, Unlawful possession of drug Paraphernalia and a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on Moving Traffic Violations with a $300.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.
