In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 100 requests for assistance this past week, Aug. 2-8. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 13, Animal Control 7, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 63, Summons 3.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On August 2, 2021, officer responded to the 200 block of East Broadway concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft prizes from a carnival ride.  A report was taken and the investigation continues. 

On August 2, 2021, officers responded to 806 South Jackson concerning stealing.  The investigation revealed the theft of two large batteries from a boat. Suspects were identified, a report taken and the investigation continues. 

On August 3, 2021, officers arrested John W Sant Jr, 18, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrants, charging him with Minor in Possession with a $181.50 bond and Stealing with a $131.50 bond.   He was released after a court appearance.

On August 3, 2021, officers arrested Ashley M. Mitchell, 30, of Montrose, for St Clair County Warrants charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charges of No Insurance, Driving While Revoked and Failure to Register with a $410.50 bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On August 3, 2021 officer arrested Korey L Wegner, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants charging him with Failure to Appear for Trespassing, with a $131.50 bond, Failure to Appear for Stealing/Larceny/Theft, with a $301.50 bond, Failure to Appear for Tampering, with a $301.50 bond, Failure to Appear for Trespassing, with a $131.50 bond, and a St. Clair County Warrant, for a Probation Violation, with a $500.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the St. Clair County Jail pending bond and a court appearance. 

On August 5, 2021, officers responded to 404 South Kirkpatrick concerning Unlawful use of a Weapon. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Paige N Walker, 19, of Stockton, for two Vernon County Warrants, charging her with Failure to Appear on original charges of Stealing a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of an accident with no bond.  She was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On August 6, 2021, officers responded to 501 West A Street concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a purse containing credit cards and cash. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 6, 2021, officers responded to 306 West Lafayette concerning a Domestic Assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael B. Owens, 35, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault. He was released on summons pending a court appearance. 

On August 7, 2021, officers responded to 117 South St. James concerning larceny. The investigation resulted in pallets tampered with and moved. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 7, 2021, officers responded to 1317 Winner Road concerning a Burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a big screen television and a lawn-mower. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 8, 2021, officers responded to a reported assault in the 1300 block of South Main Street. A report taken and the investigation continues.
