In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 79 requests for assistance this past week, Sept. 20-26. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 13, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 9, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 6, All Other Requests for Assistance 41, Summons 4.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On September 20, 2021 officers responded to the area of Hospital Road and Summer Street concerning a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Robby D. Stafford, 40, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Peace Disturbance. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On September 20, 2021, officers arrested Joseph A. Hughes, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on original charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $373.50 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On September 20, 2021, upon presenting himself to the station, officers arrested Shaeffer B. Johnson, 23, of El Dorado Springs, for St. Clair County Warrant, charging him with three counts of Arson, with a $15,000.00 bond, and a Vernon County Warrant, charging him with Non Support, with a $500.00 cash bond.  He was released on bond pending court appearances.

On September 21, 2021 officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle, apartment 14, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of $200.00 from a debit card. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 22, 2021, officers responded to 504 East Fields Street, G-15, concerning a reported fire. The investigation revealed the elements of Arson. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 23, officers responded to 400 South Park concerning a reported domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Santiago Martinez, 35, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault 4th Degree. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On September 23, 2021, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a slice of pizza. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 26, 2021, officers responded to 401 North Main concerning a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joseph I Wyatt, 36, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Peace Disturbance. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
